There are still some power outages in Newton as of 12:35pm today.  Fuel is still in limited supply so please limit your travel as much as possible.

Our next Council meeting is Monday, November 26th at 6:00pm.  Jessica and Stuart will be on hand to briefly discuss their progress on the visioning process.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

The Morris Lake Reservoir was 22 inches below the top of the spillway on 11.5.12.  The water use restrictions remain in effect.

Congratulations to all candidates who were successful in their campaigns at the local, county, state and federal levels on Tuesday!  May they be guided by wisdom and remember why it is called public service.

Due to storm-related issues, V&K will commence the lower Spring Street beautification project in the spring.  The completion date was May 15, 2013 and has been moved to June 15, 2013.

Work will commence shortly on the solar project at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The original size of the WWTP system was approximately 100kw.  The new size is 66.99kw.  The reason for the reduction is the boundaries set forth by the DEP and our future expansion needs.

A reminder that municipal offices will be closed on Monday, November 12th in observance of Veterans’ Day.

Municipal offices will close at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 21st, and be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd, for Thanksgiving.  Gobble Gobble.

The annual GNCC Holiday Parade will be on Saturday, November 24th at 10:00am.  Santa Claus is coming to town!

Be safe this weekend!
