THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was three inches over the top of the spillway on 6.17.13.
We had a very successful kick-off meeting for the BID analysis with Mike and Mary. Our team is looking forward to deep diving on this further.
The Handbook modifications are being reviewed for presentation later in the summer to the Council.
We are still compiling addresses of retail establishments to target for our marketing efforts.
Bids came in for the Fire Museum renovations – award is on the agenda.
The Newton jingle from Clear Channel is almost done! The singer should be working on same this weekend or next week. The jingle will be used to promote the Taste of Newton in September and all future Newton events.
I want to thank Deb, Jennifer, Jessica and Scott for their efforts with regards to the Historic District meeting. Ten property owners came to discuss the changes to the ordinance as well as the tax exemption program. My thanks to them for their hard work. Many good questions and the consensus is that we are on the right path in streamlining the process.
The lights have been installed on Lower Spring Street. The bricks are being done next and milling and paving will be occurring on June 26th and June 27th.
The pool is ready to open! Open house today from 3pm-6pm, open this weekend, and then officially open next weekend! Don’t be a fool…stay cool in the Newton Pool!
Stay safe and have a great weekend!
