There is a volunteer interview scheduled for 6:45pm on Monday, October 28th, and our next Town Council meeting will follow at 7:00pm. An Executive Session will occur after same.

Morris Lake was 14 inches below the top of the spillway on 9.23.13.
I want to welcome Nanette Crift to our Newton team as the new Code Enforcement Trainee. Nanette will work M-W-F on a part-time basis and assist Kathy with property maintenance issues.
The Water Department and DPW completed all the work on the new watermain on Howard Street. All homes have been connected to the main. The crews put binding in the trench in order to get the road ready for paving in October.
The Planning Board will review the Area in Need of Redevelopment Study for McGuire Chevrolet and Surrounding Parcels at their October 23rd meeting.
The pre-construction meeting was held on Thursday for the Mechanical Bar Screen at the inlet building at WWTP. The lead time on the mechanical bar screen is about 14 weeks. Construction will commence March 1st.
The office renovation in the DPW garage is almost completed.
Our marketing consultant has been actively meeting with area merchants as part of her new endeavors. We welcome Gina Thomas to our Newton team!
The solar projects have both been closed out and are operational. The savings can be viewed on the monitor in the Municipal Building lobby.
USDA has notified the Town that we are eligible for financial assistance through their program for the Fox Hollow Watermain Project. An application meeting is being set up for some time in October.
