There are two volunteer interviews scheduled (6:30pm and 6:45pm respectively) on Monday, October 28th, and our next Town Council meeting will follow at 7:00pm. An Executive Session will occur after same.

Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the September 23, 2013 Special, Regular and Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.

Ordinance 2013-25 will amend Chapter 100-15, of the Code of the Town of Newton, regarding parking lots.
There are two ordinances for introduction:
Ordinance 2013-26 will provide for the adoption of the revised Town of Newton Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual and Employee Handbook, October 2013.
Ordinance 2013-27 will amend Section 100-24.H, of the Code of the Town of Newton, to include a provision regarding future payment.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was 22 inches below the top of the spillway on 10.21.13.
The Planning Board agreed at their October 23rd meeting to recommend to the Town Council the Redevelopment Designation for McGuire Chevrolet and Surrounding Parcels.
We met with the USDA this week to discuss the Fox Hollow Watermain Project. We will be submitting our application for grant and loan funding for this important project.
The BID feasibility analysis report will be discussed at the November 25th Council meeting.
The Recreation Commission is sponsoring a trip to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on Friday, December 6th. Very few tickets are still available at the Recreation Department office. The trip is open to all ages.
