My thanks to the Council for participating in the ethics/harassment training on Monday.
Ursula and I worked on the letter to Bill Dressel at the NJ League of Municipalities on the tax-exempt issue. The resolution for Council approval will be on for October 15th. The letter and resolution will be sent to all NJ municipalities who have exempt property valuation as 20% or greater.
I conducted interviews this week for the new part-time laborer in DPW. Congratulations to Alex Armstrong who will be joining us next month. And best wishes to Bill Smith in retirement!
I am pleased to report that Chief Richards and I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Town of Newton PD and SCCC. This MOU codifies the existing relationship between the Town and SCCC and enumerates the public safety responsibilities of both entities.
I am working on the SID PowerPoint presentation for release sometime in November.
The annual budget request memorandum will be distributed to department heads next week.
