Municipal offices are closed Monday, September 7, 2015 in recognition of the Labor Day holiday.

Our next Town Council meeting will be on Wednesday, September 16th at 7:00pm.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was 25 inches below the top of the spillway on 8.31.15.

I was interviewed this week by Bruce Scruton for the NJ Herald Newton insert which is slated for publication on September 20th.

Great to see Thorlabs gearing up for the next round of development, looking to bring in an application for EJ Brooks this fall!

Information on road improvement and traffic signal costs for the Hicks Avenue Redevelopment has been distributed to appropriate officials at the County of Sussex.

Krogh’s has found a suitable location in Newton for their brewery and we hope to see same come to fruition end of 2015/beginning of 2016.

We are also looking forward to The Nutrition Store opening up in Newton on Route 206. This is part of a chain of locations also found in Sparta and Franklin. Great to see our business community thriving!

A reminder that tickets are still available for the September 21st Taste of Newton – come out and enjoy the culinary treats, new aesthetics, and good company!

Routine business discussed this week at the quarterly Safety Committee meeting and the monthly Parking Authority meeting.

Work is progressing nicely on Spring Street on the crosswalks and area in front of the Newton Fire Museum.

The new traffic light poles for Trinity Street are slated to arrive around September 15th.

There are several job ads posted on the newtontownhall.com website (click on “Employment”). Please check them out and see if you know anyone interested – positive referrals are always welcome.
