Municipal offices will be closed on Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th in recognition of Christmas Eve and Christmas. Municipal offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2nd for the New Year’s holiday.
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! This will be the last newsletter until January 6th so I wish you all the blessings of peace, love, joy, health and happiness in the new year and always.

Lorraine's office has prepared the minutes from the December 12th Regular and Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. Resolution #249-2016* will cancel appropriation balances.
Resolution #250-2016* will reappoint Rufus Coward to the Recreation Commission.
Resolution #251-2016* will reappoint Ken Edwards to the Newton Parking Authority
Resolution #252-2016* will reappoint Dave Simmons as the Town’s Water Engineer for 2017.
Resolution #253-2016* authorizes the Tax Collector to hold sell municipal liens in 2017.
Resolution #254-2016* will authorize the Tax Collector to cancel the taxes for Block 19.05, Lot 33 for 2016.
Resolution #255-2016* will authorize the Tax Collector to cancel the taxes for Block 4.02, Lot 20 for 2016.
Resolution #256-2016* will reappoint Excel Environmental Resources, Inc., as the Town’s Environmental Engineer for 2017.
Resolution #257-2016* will reappoint Jessica Caldwell as the Town’s Planner for 2017.
Resolution #258-2016* will award the Madison Street Sidewalk Improvement Project to Your Way Construction, Inc., of Irving, NJ.
Resolution #259-2016* will reappoint John Scheri of Mott MacDonald as the Town’s Sewer Engineer for 2017.
Resolution #260-2016* approve the submission and execution a grant to NJDOT for Federal Funding for the Madison Street Sidewalk Improvement Project.
Resolution #261-2016* will authorize executing an agreement for Bond and Redevelopment Counsel with McManimon, Scotland, & Baumann for 2017.
Resolution #262-2016* will appoint various attorneys for the Town for 2017.
Resolution #263-2016* will authorize the sale of brine and the price for 2017.
Resolution #264-2016* will reappoint Tom Ferry as the Town’s Municipal Auditor for 2017.
Resolution #265-2016* will authorize executing an agreement with Ferraioli, Wielkotz, Cerullo & Cuva for auditing the Fire Department and Rescue Squad’s LOSAP for 2017.
Resolution #266-2016* will authorize the payment of bills and vouchers.
Resolution #267-2016* will authorize appropriation transfers.
