Our next Town Council meeting is Monday night beginning at 7:00pm.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the May 8th Regular meeting for consideration and approval.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.

PROCLAMATIONS
We have one proclamation to be presented:
a. Newton Robotics Team

Chief Richards will recognize two officers.

COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS

ORDINANCES
There is one ordinance for 2nd Reading and Public Hearing:

Ordinance 2017-10 will establish a mechanism to identify and track vacant and abandoned residential and commercial properties in the Town.

There are two ordinances for introduction:

Ordinance 2017-11 will establish a formal policy providing a retroactive refund of property taxes, for disabled veterans for a period of no greater than twenty-four months.

Ordinance 2017-12 will regulate the placement of trash dumpsters and roll-off containers within the Town only as it pertains to placement within public right-of-ways.

OLD BUSINESS

CONSENT AGENDA
Resolution #84-2017* will award the bid for Cleaning Services to First Community Development Corporation.

Resolution #85-2017* will award a credit to the water bill of a property owner.

Resolution #86-2017* will authorize a professional services agreement with Max Spann Realty to auction 24 Lawnwood Avenue.

Resolution #87-2017* will appoint Thomas Butterfield as a regular member of the Planning Board due the resignation of Joe Ricciardo.

Resolution #88-2017* will authorize the public sale of 24 Lawnwood Avenue.

Resolution #89-2017* will authorize the procurement of general electricity through an online auction.

Resolution #90-2017* will authorize the procurement of electricity for public lighting through an online auction.

Resolution #91-2017* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.

Application(s)* -
An application for a Social Affair permit from the Newton Fire Department, to be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Newton Fire House Station 2, 56 Woodside Avenue, Newton, NJ.

An application for an On-premise raffle (50-50) from the Pride Foundation, Inc. to be held on September 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm; September 29, 2017 at 7:00 pm; October 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm; October 20, 2017 at 7:00 pm; November 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm; November 10, 2017 at 7:00 pm; November 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm; December 5, 2017 at 6:00 pm; December 12, 2017 at 6:00 pm; and December 19, 2017 at 6:00 pm at 44 Ryerson Avenue, Newton, NJ.
