Our next Town Council meeting is Monday night beginning at 7:00pm. A reminder we have two volunteer interviews scheduled for 6:30pm and 6:45pm.

Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the June 26th Regular & July 1st Reorganizational meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.
Our newest Police Officer Jared Zappa will be officially sworn-in.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
There are two (2) ordinances for introduction:
Ordinance 2017-13 will designate the authority to approve the granting of raffle and bingo licenses to the Town Clerk as recommended by the Town Attorney.
Ordinance 2017-14 a bond ordinance to providing a supplemental appropriation of $250,000 for the Fox Hollow project.
Resolution #125-2017 will authorize the purchase of a Stryker Medical Model 6506 Cot for NFAS. Councilwoman Diglio will recuse on same.
Resolution #126-2017* will authorize the auctioning of the 2007 Dodge Durango and 1999 Spartan Rescue Fire Truck no longer needed for public use.
Resolution #127-2017* will authorize an amendment to our Labor Counsel agreement.
Resolution #128-2017* will approve Change Order No. 4 for the completed Fox Hollow project.
Resolution #129-2017* will approve the purchase of Motorola Pagers, Portable Radios and Communications Equipment for the Fire Department.
Resolution #130-2017* will authorize the Tax Collector to hold an electronic tax sale.
Resolution #131-2017* will authorize tax sale notice fees to be charged.
Resolution #132-2017* will authorize a credits due utility customers.
Resolution #133-2017* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #134-2017* will authorize a non-fair and open contract to Gold Type Business Machines.
Resolution #135-2017* will change text and title in the Water Sewer Utility Budget.
Resolution #136-2017* is a capital budget amendment.
Resolution #137-2017* will refer a proposed amendment of the Merriam Gateway Redevelopment Plan to the Planning Board for review and comment.
Application(s)* there is one application for review from the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce for a Social Affair special permit for the Taste of Newton to be held on September 11, 2017 with a rain date of September 12, 2017.

Morris Lake is 2 inches above spillway as of July 10th.
Due to the recent resignation of Jim Cutler as our Plumbing Sub-code official we will be looking to work with our friends in Hardyston on providing this service.

Kimberly continues to expertly coordinate our annual employee BBQ at Town Hall. Make sure you are signed up to bring a dish!
