A friendly reminder there are three (3) interviews scheduled to be held prior to our next Council meeting beginning at 5:45pm for the position of Municipal Judge. The three candidate’s proposals have been shared with you on the Google Drive. Please note the three interviewees are the only three who properly followed the instructions of the RFP. Our next Town Council meeting is Wednesday night beginning at 7:00pm.

Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the September 13th Regular & Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.

There are two (2) ordinances for introduction:
Ordinance 2017-19 is a fully-funded Water Sewer Capital Improvement ordinance for the repair of two (2) clarifiers at the Sewer Treatment Plant.
Ordinance 2017-20 will amend the parking regulations on Halsted Street at the request of the Police Department.
Resolution #188-2017* will authorize submitting and executing a grant application for the Church Street Project.
Resolution #189-2017* will have you concur with the appointment of a new crossing guard.
Resolution #190-2017* will reject the bids for the Firehouse No. 2 project.
Resolution #191-2017* will cancel the balance of the monies for the Action Alliance grant from 2016-2017 grant period.
Resolution #192-2017* will approve a fireworks display for the Hospital’s Festival of Lights.
Resolution #193-2017* will authorize an emergency repair for the two (2) clarifiers at the Sewer Treatment Plant.
Resolution #194-2017* will authorize amending the Water Sewer Capital budget. This is done in conjunction with Ordinance 2017-19 and Resolution #193-2017.
Resolution #195-2017* will authorize credits due water and sewer utility accounts for an erroneously replaced meter head.
Resolution #196-2017* will authorize Change Order No. 1 for Denville Line Striping for work done on the Improvements to Liberty Street project.
Resolution #197-2017* will approve the insertion of revenue in the 2017 budget for the Body Armor Grant (BARF).
Resolution #198-2017* authorize credits due water and sewer utility accounts to credit erroneous penalties.
Resolution #199-2017* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #200-2017* will approve the insertion of revenue in the 2017 budget for the Municipal Alliance Grant.
Resolution #201-2017* will urge the State Legislature to extend the 2% Cap on Police and Fire Arbitration Contract Awards which is due to expire on December 31, 2017.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake is 7 inches below the top of the spillway as of October 2, 2017.
Departments are working on submittals for the Fall newsletter.
I have sent out my annual budget request memorandum to all departments.
We had a productive meeting this week discussing the Armory project and G&H redevelopment.
Municipal offices are closed Monday in recognition of Columbus Day.
