Our next Town Council regular meeting is Monday, February 11, 2019 beginning at 7:00pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the January 28th Special, Regular and Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
Each Councilmember can give an update on various items or Board/Commission actions that have taken place recently.
We have one ordinance for introduction:
Ordinance 2019-1 will amend the regulations for generators.
Resolution #56-2019 would authorize a settlement with Newton West regarding a tax appeal. This Resolution was tabled at the last meeting.
Resolution #57-2019* will approve the participation in the State of New Jersey Safe and Secure Communities Program.
Resolution #58-2019* will extend the contract for auto repair services with Boonton Tire per Bid 6-2017.
Resolution #59-2019* will approve 2018 appropriation reserve transfers.
Resolution #60-2019* will authorize the purchase of rock salt and grit through Sussex County.
Resolution #61-2019* will certify our hiring practices to comply with the US EEOC requirements. This resolution is required every year before submitting our budget to the state.
Resolution #62-2019* will cancel outstanding checks in the Court accounts.
Resolution #63-2019* will appoint John-Paul Couce to the Planning Board as an alternate and Danielle Zito to the Recreation Commission.
Resolution #64-2019* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake is 2 inches above the top of the spillway as of February 4, 2019.
We met with our friends from SCCC to talk about their game plan for the improvements to the McGuire’s property. We look forward to partnering with them on the long-term viability of this great multi-faceted endeavor.
Our first budget meeting went very well on Wednesday evening – thank you to all staff who participated in same.
The Statewide Reorganization meeting was successfully held in Basking Ridge, NJ yesterday. I was selected as chairman for another year. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and to lead.
We had a great meeting today with John Kweselait to discuss the exciting projects he has going on in the Town of Newton. We are very grateful for his significant investments in our community and look forward to many more years of his great success.
Tickets are available for the Seton Hall awards reception in April where I will receive recognition for our market research project with Seton Hall students. Please contact Terri if would like to join me at the Newton tables. Thursday, April 11th, 6pm-6pm in South Orange, NJ. As an alum, donor and professor, I am honored to be recognized but thank all staff and professionals for working on this project.
