Our next Town Council regular meeting is Monday, March 25, 2019 beginning at 7:00pm.
Congratulations to Deputy Mayor and Mrs. Flynn on their new arrival – Norah Grace Flynn, 7 lbs., 13 oz., 20 ½ inches. Mom, Dad, and Baby are all doing well!
Thank you to everyone for kind words of concern post-op during my recovery – I appreciate your kindness.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the March 11, 2019 Regular meeting for your consideration and approval.
PRESENTATIONS
1. National Donate Life Month - A representative from the NJ Sharing Network will be in attendance so the Mayor may present a proclamation proclaiming April as “National Donate Life Month”.
2. Nancy Woods – Nancy will be recognized for her many years of dedicated and steadfast service to the community.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
Each Councilmember can give an update on various items or Board/Commission actions that have taken place recently.
ORDINANCES
There is one ordinance for public hearing:
Ordinance 2019-1 will amend the regulations for generators. This ordinance was referred to the Planning Board and they deem it not inconsistent with the Master Plan and offered no further comments.
OLD BUSINESS
Resolution #86-2019 will authorize entering into a shared services agreement with the County of Sussex related to pedestrian warning beacon along County Route 519.
CONSENT AGENDA
Resolution #90-2019* will appoint Adam Vough of the DPW as Municipal Recycling Coordinator.
Resolution #91-2019* will authorize a required disclosure contract with PALL Corporation for engineering technical support and inspection for the Microfiltration System at the Morris Lake Filtration Plant.
Resolution #92-2019* will release a performance bond for the Gordon Newton Associates, LLC project at 222 High Street based on the recommendation of the Town Engineer.
Resolution #93-2019* will authorize officials to sign checks for the court.
Resolution #94-2019* will authorize salary adjustments for those employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements (non-union).
Resolution #95-2019* will certify the self-examination of the 2019 budget.
Resolution #96-2019* will authorize doing a reverse auction for our electrical supply.
Resolution #97-2019* will authorize doing a reverse auction our electrical supply for our lighting accounts.
Resolution #98-2019* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #99-2019* will approve appropriation reserve transfers for accumulated absences and snow removal.
Resolution #100-2019* will award a contract to SESI for a geotechnical survey for the pool.
Resolution #101-2019* will appoint Matthew Morris, P.P., of Harold E. Pellow & Associates, Inc., as the Town’s Conflict Planner for the KWest Properties, LLC project at 134 Spring Street.
Resolution #102-2019* will authorize payment of vacation and sick time due to Jose Morales upon his retirement.
RESOLUTION
Resolution #103-2019 will accept the certified list of qualifying 2018 LOSAP participants for the Newton First Aid Squad.
