APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the November 13, 2019 Regular and Executive meetings for your consideration and approval.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter. Council may choose to comment after the entire public portion has concluded.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
Each Councilmember can give an update on various items or Board/Commission actions that have taken place recently.
Ken Teets and Dan Finkle of the Newton Office of Emergency Management will be in attendance to give an overview of their department and the services they provide.
There is one ordinance for introduction:
Ordinance 2019-14 will establish salaries and wages for calendar year 2020.
Resolution #229-2019 will authorize the transfer of ownership of an ambulance to the Newton First Aid Squad. Councilwoman Diglio will recuse on same.
Resolution #230-2019* will change the procedures for the claimant certification on vouchers. This will help to expedite payment that is under the $6,000.00 quote threshold.
Resolution #231-2019* will authorize officials to sign to sign checks for the Court to include new personnel.
Resolution #232-2019* will reappoint Keith Mitchell as our Risk Management Consultant for 2020.
Resolution #233-2019* will reappoint myself as Fund Commissioner and Jennifer Dodd as Alternate Fund Commissioner for the Town of Newton in the Statewide Insurance Fund.
Resolution #234-2019* will refer the Proposed Amendments to the Paterson Avenue Redevelopment Plan to the Planning Board for review and comment.
Resolution #235-2019* will authorize Change Order No. 1 for the Church Street project and accept the project as complete.
Resolution #236-2019* will authorize Change Order No. 1 for the ADA Ramps for Plainfield Avenue project and accept this portion of the project as complete.
Resolution #237-2019* will authorize an agreement for my employment with the Town.
Resolution #238-2019* will authorize the refund of monies to an outside lien holder for 105 Lake Avenue.
Resolution #239-2019* will authorize a performance bonus for the Town Manager.
Resolution #240-2019* will authorize credits due water and sewer accounts.
Resolution #241-2019* will authorize a four-year agreement with UPSEU.
Resolution #242-2019* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
