THE WEEK IN REVIEW
The Morris Lake Reservoir was 2 inches above the top of the spillway on 11.28.11.
The annual GNCC Holiday Parade was very well attended this year. Businesses were busy afterwards with many holiday shoppers. My thanks to all volunteers and staff who made this a special day.
Annual performance evaluations are being conducted this month.
I have sent out several memoranda regarding holiday gifts, grab bag, and holiday party.
The Town of Newton received an award at the annual Sussex County Economic Development Partnership Luncheon this week. The Armory Project was recognized for its environmental stewardship. Congratulations also go out to the Newton Theatre for the recognition they received as a recipient of the New Business Award.
The Plaza Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held this week by the GNCC. We are extremely pleased to see the restaurant doing well.
The elevator project is continuing to move forward, with an anticipated start after the beginning of the new year (6-week turnaround time).
The new wayfinding signs were too small upon placement so new, larger signs have been ordered in their place. Level G will be compensating us for the first run of signs that were too small.
Our thanks go out this week to our friends in Andover Township for the excellent letter of support sent to the Board of Chosen Freeholders regarding the now-defunct Newton-Sparta Road Upgrade Project. I sent a similar correspondence on our behalf.
Our gratitude goes out to all volunteers and staff who assisted with the fire this week on Hamilton Street. We are grateful for their service and safe keeping.
Congratulations go out to the Newton Police Department for receiving a Mosaic Award last night at Project Self Sufficiency.
Enjoy your weekend! Go Rangers!
