Reminder, our Budget meeting is tomorrow beginning at 9:00am.  Our next regular Town Council meeting is Monday, February 10, 2020 beginning at 7:00pm.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the January 27th regular meeting for your consideration and approval.

CEREMONY

The Mayor will swear-in Steven Van Nieuwland as Lieutenant and Joseph D’Annibale as Sergeant.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting.  There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone.  This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward.  The public can speak on any matter. Council may choose to comment after the entire public portion has concluded.

CONSENT AGENDA

Resolution #63-2020* will award the bid for the pool renovations to All State Technologies.  

Resolution #64-2020* will award the contract for the online vendor payments through the competitive contracting process to Municipay.

Resolution #65-2020* will authorize credits due water and sewer utility accounts.

Resolution #66-2020* authorize the assignment of Ferraioli, Wielkotz, Cerullo & Cuva P.A. auditor contract to Wielkotz & Company, LLC as part of their formal name change.  

Resolution #67-2020* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.

Application(s)* there are two (2) applications for your consideration: 

1.     An application for membership into the Newton Fire Department for Steven Estler, 23 Madison Street, Newton, NJ.

2.     An application for junior membership into the Newton Fire Department for Nicholas Hayes, 66 Woodside Avenue, Newton, NJ.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Morris Lake is 2 inches above the top of the spillway as of February 3, 2020.        

The proposed municipal budget was distributed to staff and Council.  Many thanks to everyone for your efforts this year.

We participated in a meeting at SCCC to discuss the RFQ for the McGuire’s redevelopment area.

I was re-elected to the position of Chairman of the Statewide Insurance Fund in Florham Park this week.  I look forward to another successful year and am grateful to serve.
