Just a reminder we have our Budget meeting tomorrow morning, February 20th from 8:30am – 12:30pm.  The Zoom invite has been emailed to you and is on the agenda.  Our next regular Town Council meeting will be on Monday, February 22nd at 7:00pm, via Zoom.  The same has been posted on our website.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

1.     February 8, 2021 – Regular Meeting

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting.  There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 3 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone.  This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward.  The public can speak on any matter. Council may choose to comment after the entire public portion has concluded.

COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS

Each Councilmember can give an update on various items or Board/Commission actions that have taken place recently.

OLD BUSINESS

ORDINANCES

There is one (1) Ordinance 2nd Reading and Public Hearing:

Ordinance 2021-2 will amend, revise, and supplement Chapter 258 “Stormwater Control” of the Town of Newton Code as required by the State.

There are two (2) ordinances for Introduction:

Ordinance 2021-3 will establish a CAP Bank.  This is an annual procedure.

Ordinance 2021-4 will amend Chapter 228, adding Article IX “Limits on Prohibited Discharges from Industrial User”.

CONSENT AGENDA

Resolution #73-2021* will award Bid 1-2021 for Cleaning Services to Quality Facility Solutions. 

Resolution #74-2021* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Resolution #75-2021 will authorize going into closed session for a discussion with legal counsel on the Water Street Redevelopment.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Morris Lake is 1 inch above the top of the spillway as of February 19, 2021.

Modified building hours are still in operation without any significant delays or issues to report.
