This is for those that wish to address the Town
Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda
to please keep their comments to a maximum of 3 minutes and limited to one turn at the microphone. This allows ample time for all whom wish to
speak and keeps the meeting moving forward.
The public can speak on any matter. Council may choose to comment after
the entire public portion has concluded.

BUSINESS
RESOLUTION(S)
Resolution #149-2021 will cancel certain appropriation
balances for the preliminary stage of Sparta Avenue Pump Station Project.
ORDINANCES
There are two (2) ordinances for 2nd
Reading and Public Hearing:
Ordinance 2021-13 which will amend
Ordinance 2021-12 revising the permitted days/hours of operation and
responsibility of odor control systems.
Ordinance 2021-14 will extend our
tax-abatement program in the Downtown Historic District for an additional five
(5) years.
There are three (3) ordinances for Introduction:
Ordinance
2021-15 will provide funding for
various water and sewer utility projects.
Ordinance 2021-16 is a bond ordinance for the Sparta Avenue Pump
Station project.
Ordinance
2021-17 will authorize a tax for the
sale of cannabis.
CONSENT
AGENDA
Resolution #150-2021* will concur with the Utility Board’s
recommendation for water and sewer connection fees for the Water Street
Holdings, LLC project.
Resolution #151-2021* will authorize the submission of a grant
application and execution of a grant contract for the East Clinton Street,
Lawnwood Avenue, and Nelson Street resurfacing project.
Resolution #152-2021* will authorize the refund due a water
and sewer utility account.
Resolution #153-2021* will authorize the refund a taxes for a
100% disabled veteran for 49 Sussex Street.
Resolution #154-2021* will approve bills and vouchers for
payment.
Application(s)* there is one application from Isarah Perrelli for membership
as a junior firefighter in the Newton Fire Department.
