JULY 6, 2020 - MUNICIPAL BUILDING TO RE-OPEN TO PUBLIC FOR WALK-IN SERVICE

Municipal Building to Re-Open to the Public for Walk-In Service

Effective Monday, July 6, 2020 the Town of Newton Municipal Building will re-open to the public for walk-in service.

Revised hours of operation will be from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Throughout the challenges created by COVID-19 over the past several months, the Town of Newton has remained open for business.  Although walk-in service was restricted, the Town continued to provide service to all residents, businesses, and visitors via the remote use of technology.

Individuals doing business with the Town of Newton are still encouraged to utilize those means of interaction with the municipal staff whenever possible but beginning on July 6, 2020, walk-in service is another option.  To reiterate, hours of operation for walk-in service will only be from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Should you prefer not to come to the Municipal Building in person, please continue to be aware of the following options through our website:

  • You can receive alerts.
  • You can pay tax and utility bills electronically.
  • You can report a concern to the attention of staff.

You can also still contact staff via e-mail or phone.

If you find yourself with a question or concern regarding municipal operations and are unsure who to contact, please contact the Town Manager’s Office at 973-383-3521 x228 or via email at manager@newtontownhall.com.

For those who anticipate visiting in person, welcome back!  Visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times in all municipal buildings and remain socially distant to protect yourself, the staff, and all of those with whom you interact.
