Morris Lake was 23 inches below the top of the spillway on 12.10.12.
Thanks to everyone who worked or volunteered their time to make the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony successful! A great time was had by all.
Performance evaluations are ongoing with staff members.
Dates are being scheduled and preparations made for the CWA and UPSEU contract negotiations. I am looking forward to a swift and amicable resolution to both endeavors.
The annual School Board/Town Council meeting was held this week with great success. I look forward to working with the district on the marketing campaign for the Town as well as exploring the fiber optics initiative.
The GNCC had their annual holiday gathering at Trinity Lounge and a great time was had by all – celebrating the year of business successes and looking forward to an even better 2013!
Work continues on the new flag poles on Spring Street, graciously donated by the Newton Rotary!
All PEOSHA violations in the W/S department have been abated ahead of schedule – thank you to everyone for your expeditious work on same.
A minor watermain break occurred this week near Merriam Avenue School. Repairs were done quickly by the W/S and DPW crews – kudos!
My annual staff/safety/administrative team breakfast meetings went very well on Wednesday morning. Thank you to everyone for working hard this past year on providing effective and efficient customer service, and for doing so in a safe manner, too!
Delinquent notices are going out for taxes. Follow-up phone calls are being made as well.
The new court security measures and staffing are helping to streamline operations greatly. My thanks to Lucy and the Chief and everyone for their assistance on same.
A reminder that TH closes at 3:30pm on Friday the 21st. The annual Town holiday party is on that day starting at 4:00pm at Firehouse 1. Please see Terri by Monday.
Don’t forget to pick a charity of choice for 2012 and provide Terri with your $10 donation. We will select the recipient next week and provide them with our collective funds.
Town Hall is closing at Noon on December 24th for Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. TH is closed on New Year’s Day. The NFD Officers’ Swearing-In Ceremony is on New Year’s Day at Noon at the #1 Firehouse on Mill Street.
