There is a volunteer interview scheduled for 6:45pm on Monday, September 23rd, and our next Town Council meeting will follow at 7:00pm. An Executive Session will occur after same.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine's office has prepared the minutes from the September 11th Regular and Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.

Ordinances 2013-24 will amend Chapter 289 providing for the removal of vehicles that constitute a public safety risk.

Resolution #158-2013* will approve the renewal of a taxicab owner’s license for DADS Taxi & Limo.

Resolution #160-2013* will approve the renewal of a taxicab driver’s license for Barbara Fitzmaurice.
Resolution #161-2013* will approve the renewal of a taxicab driver’s license for Glenn T. Spicer.
Resolution #162-2013* will approve the renewal of taxicab driver’s license for Ralph E. Drake.
Resolution #163-2013* will approve the transfer of a 3rd quarter tax payment to correct a payment.
Resolution #164-2013* will confirm the refund of monies due as a result of a State Tax Court judgment for 4 Union Place.
Resolution #165-2013* will confirm the credit of monies due as a result of a State Tax Court judgment for 7 Woodside Avenue.
Resolution #166-2013* will authorize a credit due a utility account.
Resolution #167-2013* will authorize the Tax Collector to hold a tax sale. The sale is scheduled for October 9th at 10:00am.
Resolution #168-2013* will accept the Curb, Sidewalk and Apron Replacement Project on Maple Avenue as complete.
Resolution #169-2013* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #170-2013* will accept the Best Practices Inventory and Questionnaire so it may be submitted to the DLGS.
Resolution #171-2013* will authorize an exception to the ordinance regarding returned checks.

Applications* - there are two applications for consideration:
- An application for an off-premise raffle (50/50) from the Pride Foundation to be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 3:00pm and Newton High School, 44 Ryerson Avenue, Newton.
- An application for an off-premise raffle (50/50) from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 17 Elm Street, Newton to be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 3:00pm at 17 Elm Street, Newton.

Resolution #172-2013 will authorize going into closed session. I have one topic to discuss: (1) Contract Negotiations. Legal Counsel will be present to discuss.
THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was 13 inches below the top of the spillway on 9.16.13.
The Water Department and DPW completed all the work on the new watermain on Howard Street. All homes have been connected to the main. Next week the crews will put binding in the trench in order to get the road ready for paving.
M. Sky contracting has finished up their work on Spring Street and Main Street.
USDA has notified the Town that we are eligible for financial assistance through their program for the Fox Hollow Watermain Project. An application meeting is being set up for some time in October.
