I have distributed copies of the PBA/SOA contracts for Council review.
I have negotiated a shared services arrangement with Byram Township for tax collector. They will utilize Linda’s services from September 2014 – April 2015 for a total of 280 hours. Linda will coordinate her modified Newton hours with Dawn. This will be a win/win/win situation for both towns and Linda as well. The agreement will be on for approval on August 25th.
Letters are being generated for our dispatch customers for their 3-year contract renewals.
Routine business was conducted at this month’s Statewide Insurance meeting.
I spoke with Jennifer Jean Miller this week about all of the great projects we are working on. I anticipate several stories to come out of our conversation.
Our next SID/Downtown tour has been scheduled for later this month. Next stop: Somerville!
The DPW regionalization study is progressing on schedule.
The Planning Board approved plans for the new Moose Lodge project as well as the new State of NJ Labor Department building by our old railroad right-of-way. Much activity is going on from Spring Street down to Hicks Avenue. A great time to invest! Don’t forget I told you so…
Enjoy your weekend!
Yours for a Better Newton,
