THE WEEK IN REVIEW
The Morris Lake Reservoir was 4 inches below the top of the spillway on 8.22.11.
I met today with staff from my office, DPW, Police and OEM, in preparation for this weekend’s weather event. Town staff and volunteers are ready to handle the conditions presented by Hurricane Irene. Please make sure you all take care of yourselves and your families. Members of the Local Emergency Planning Committee are asked to be on standby. There is a wealth of information on our website from the Red Cross regarding things you can personally do to prepare for the hurricane. Be smart, and be safe!
The Merriam Avenue Watermain project has been completed and the watermain is up and running. Work will begin next week on connecting the various services.
Tilcon was here this week milling the alleyways and roadways. Paving will begin on Monday.
Tony’s Concrete has been rapidly progressing on replacing the various areas of sidewalk within the central business district. I anticipate they will be completed with all their work by the end of next week.
Stay safe and dry this weekend!
