Michelle, before being elected, was a part-time 9-1-1 Telecommunications Operator for the Town of Newton Police Department.
Professional Service
Michelle has been employed with the Department of Defense, Picatinny Arsenal for more than 31 years. Her current position is a Supervisor for the Program Analysis Team within the Joint Program Executive Office for Armaments and Ammunition, JPEO A&A, Project Manager for Close Combat Systems, PM CCS. Michelle is responsible for a team of Acquisition / Program Analyst professionals who are engaged in highly analytic work. She supervises all financial and fiscal lifecycle management of the PM CCS portfolio. A portfolio totaling $1.6B in FY 21, which includes Army, Other Services and Foreign Military Sales buys in support of the Warfighter Mission. As the senior Subject Matter Expert (SME), Michelle is responsible for ensuring problems and/or issues impacting program execution, budget requests, Army / Office of the Secretary of Defense goals and audit readiness are addressed and resolved in a satisfactory manner. She advises leadership on the most effective/efficient techniques available to accomplish the PMs assigned mission. As a supervisor, Michelle executes the full range of human resources and fiscal responsibilities. She enforces merit principles in all personnel actions and selections. Evaluates the performance of subordinates, gives advice, counsel, and/or instructions to subordinates on both work and administrative matters. She interviews and recommends selections of candidates for positions. She hears and resolves complaints from subordinates and ensures adequate training and resources are available to successfully execute the PMs Mission.
Volunteer Service and Organizations
Michelle has and continues to volunteer at countless fundraising events for Newton Fire Department, PBA Local 138, Newton Braves Youth Football League and the Newton High School Booster Program. Michelle is most happy when she is helping others.
Educational Background
Michelle received her Professional Master of Business Administration Degree in 2010 from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Michelle has resided in Newton since 1997. She is married to Ken Teets, who is a Law Enforcement Officer for the Town of Newton and their nephew Robert lives with them as well.
